19. Transitional Justice: Justice and Peace in Situations of Transition

In this joint report, the CAVV and the Advisory Council on International Affairs (AIV) examine the way in which justice and lasting peace can take shape after a period of war crimes and large-scale human rights violations. In the view of the CAVV / AIV each situation must be considered on a case-by-case basis, seeking the right combination of mechanisms, such as criminal prosecution, truth and reconciliation commissions and reparation.
